About the foundation
Vasavi Seva Foundation is an organization based in the San Francisco bay area comprised of people of AryaVysya origin that have come together for the purpose of preserving the heritage and to serve the needy and under privileged.
For preserving the heritage the organization has undertaken building a place of worship / sanctum for Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari and place for spiritual studies. The place will be open and accessible to all, both within the community and outside the community.
The organization's activities include holding free classes to study spiritual literature of India such as the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita. Classes are open to all and are taught by volunteer teachers.Yoga, Meditation, and children's religious education classes will also be held.
The organization conducts events to mobilize resources towards charitable projects. The projects include, but are not limited to, feeding the hungry, collecting and distributing clothes to people who need them and to provide books/supplies and other support required for students who are motivated to learn but constrained by resources.
